Iceland is one of the few places in the world where you can enter a volcano's magma chamber. Hike to the top crater of Thríhnúkagígur Volcano which last erupted over 4,000 years ago and take the lift down into the bottom of its magma chamber that once was filled with red-hot molten lava.
