Steeped in history, Flesje Gard is situated on the historic farm Flesje in Balestrand. Originally part of the neighboring estate Tue until the end of the 17th century, the property was transformed into a bailiff residence by Hans Blix in 1692. In 1774, military captain Jacob Meidell purchased the farm, and it remained in his family until 1951. The Tenningås family acquired the farm in 1948, becoming the first farmers to cultivate Flesje since 1685. Today, Flesje Gard is owned by Norwegian Rune Andersen, a civil engineer who has dedicated significant time to restoring the buildings and outdoor areas to their former glory.
